Soft lift is an alternative for a non-surgical procedure: our options and suggestions, Botox and Juvederm.
As we all know every face is different and each solution should be tailored to the patient’s individual needs. We need to know that wrinkles can be due to action of the underlying muscle or from tethering of the skin to deeper structures. (eyes, mouth, Forehead, ect). Below are the two options, their benefits, their areas of improvement, and differences.
BOTOX® Cosmetic: is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and it is used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in people from 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time (temporary). Botox can soften the lines by decreasing the ability of those muscles to contract.
On the Eyes: Periorbital wrinkles can be either dynamic or static, resulting from overactivity of eyelid muscles or loss of collagen support within the skin. Treating lines around the eyes are best approached with multiple modalities. Botox can relax the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles.
On the Forehead: Wrinkles across the forehead are usually a sign that your eyebrows are dropping and you are frequently raising your brows to try to hold your eyelids up.. Botox and fillers are the primary treatment for forehead lines because it paralyzes the muscles that cause the wrinkles.
JUVÉDERM® injectable gel: is indicated for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. These are temporary and at times cannot address deep wrinkles because it does not release the tethering that is creating the wrinkle.
On the Mouth: Fillers help to add volume to the white line, where lip liner is usually placed. The final result is typically a very dramatic improvement/resolution of the lines around the mouth.
FYI: A face without expression lines looks odd. To avoid excessive aging do your best to love a balanced life, try to manage stress well, get enough rest, have a good diet, and always use sunblock.
